This Engineering Design Challenge is based on the picture book, Olive the Other Reindeer, by Vivian Walsh and J. Otto Seibold.
Can your group create the tallest gum drop tree using toothpicks and gum drops?
Materials: (per group)
One box of toothpicks
One bag of gum drops (Christmas ones work well!)
Ruler
This packet contains all the information you need to make this a great engineering activity in your classroom! Lab sheets, student and teacher instructions, and challenge signs are all included! Using simple and cheap materials, you can engage your students in the engineering process!
