ODE Introduction to Dyslexia, Grades K-3 course Study Guide

In Ohio the Dyslexia Support Laws now requires all kindergarten through third grade teachers, as well as teachers providing special education instruction to children in kindergarten through grade 12, to complete professional development on identifying characteristics of dyslexia and understanding pedagogy for instruction of students with dyslexia.

The Ohio Department of Education has developed a free course for teachers providing instruction to students in grades K-3 to meet the professional development requirements.

I have personally worked through the course, completing all 11 modules and passing the final exam on my first attempt. I have created a comprehensive study guide to assist you with the final exam at the end of the course. This study guide contains the most important vocabulary and strategies which are defined and explained. I have also provided a section in the study guide that contains real world scenarios, with practical applications to address each example according and aligned with the 11 Modules of the Dyslexia course.
