Multi-step word problems tend to be tricky! Help your students practice this essential math skill and set goals for the new year with this fun winter math craft! In this activity, New Year's Ned is celebrating the beginning of 2024 during the entire month of January and needs our help to plan the big celebration! This craftivity has kiddos working on multi-step math problems, as well as reflecting on 2023, and thinking ahead to their goals for 2024. Students will complete 5 January and New Year's themed word problems in this resource as well as color, and then cut “Ned” and all of the problems out. Finally, they will then paste, tape, or staple the entire problem together to make a fun decoration for your classroom. There are 4 different versions included for different grade levels, which will also help you differentiate for the kiddos in your class. Your students will love this integrated math and ELA project for grades 2-5!
