Description

This 3-day unit is designed to help students learn all about the narrative writing genre. Students will learn about the defining features of factual personal narratives and fictional narratives. They’ll develop a deep understanding of the purpose of narrative writing, critical elements of narratives, and writing techniques.

Here’s the fun part…students will create an engaging booklet filled with guided notes. In addition, they’ll develop their craft as writers as they respond to 5 different writing tasks.

This resource provides a solid and critical foundation for ANY narrative writing unit.

Great News! The student booklet and the grading guide are also available as Google Slides resources for students. In addition to the PDF version, students can complete the booklet via a file sharing service such as Google Drive, Google Classroom, or in the internet “cloud.” The digital version of the packet is accessible from any computer and allows students to complete their work online.
