What educators are saying

We have enjoyed utilizing this project. The product is well-thought, although I made some modifications to meet the needs of my students. Their finished projects are due this week, and I'm very excited to see what they have to show me. Thanks!
Used this to review the basic principles of the Constitution with my 11th grade class. I edited it a bit to fit my needs but the framework has been so helpful! I love how this project allows them to be creative and relate the concept to something they enjoy-music! Really happy with this resource

Description

Summative Assessment Project: Music Album Soundtrack Project

This end of the unit project is great as a summative assessment for any content area! Students will pick "soundtrack" of songs and make a connection between the songs and the main idea of the unit! They will then design a CD album cover based on the big ideas of the unit. Students will utilize the planning sheets to identify the key themes and big ideas/essential understandings to include in their project. This project provides options for hand-drawn or digitally created student products.

★Check it out!: This project is included in the Summative Assessment Projects Bundle at a discounted price!

Using this Product in the Classroom
I have used this activity in an 8th grade classroom. I spend one to two days presenting the requirements, sharing the student sample, and having the students complete their brainstorming worksheet. I then pass out the rubric and have the students either complete the remainder of the project at home or spend a day or two completing the artistic portion of the project.

I have used this as a summative assignment at the end of a unit. I have also used it as a formative assessment and have offered it as a choice for an end of unit project to provide differentiation and student choice.
