Description

Mini Moguls Project-Based Learning Math Experience helps students understand the concept of opening a business. This 9 day activity leads kids through the process of opening an ice cream stand, starting with their location and monthly bills, and into the process of finding their profits.

A packet is included leading students through the process of opening the business. This project truly is print and go and ready for you to hand to students.

Here's the general outline of events:
Day 1: Introduce the project to students. Students also name their business and design a logo.

Day 2: Get students thinking about their monthly bills, as well as their one-time purchases they may need to open their business.

Day 3: Explain profits to students and discuss how students should price their items. Students will also make a menu which includes pricing.

Day 4: It’s opening day! Give students their Day 1 Ice Cream Sales Data Sheet. Students find out what their profit was on day 1.

Day 5: Give students their day 2 Ice Cream Sales Data Sheet. Students find out what their profit was on day 2.

Day 6: Give students their day 3 Ice Cream Sales Data Sheet. Students find out what their profit was on day 3.
