Description
"Make Words!" is a fun way to incorporate word work into your daily or weekly routine, and gives students valuable word study practice. Students cut apart a group of letters and use them to form words.
The resource includes 28 activity sheets, each with a different set of focus spelling patterns and a unique combination of letters with which to make words. Spelling patterns include many common word families, consonant and vowel digraphs, diphthongs, and more. *See the Preview for a complete list of the spelling patterns included.
Students accumulate points with the words they make, based on the number of letters in each word. Words get recorded in the activity sheet's chart, organized by word length. Answer keys are included to make it easy for you to check student work. (A separate answer key is provided for each activity sheet, containing all possible words to make.)
Also included are 82 "Help Cards" (quarter-sheet size), one for every spelling pattern, to help scaffold the activity for students who need a little extra structure. The Help Cards focus students' efforts on one pattern at a time, guiding them in forming words containing each pattern.
