Description
MATRICES
The question of whether to teach matrices or not is an interesting one. If you are reading this, it is probably because you have decided to teach the topic (or the decision was made for you).
Matrices are included in the CCSS and are meaningful in Algebra 2 (solving systems) and in geometry (transformation / vectors), eventually leading to modeling, simulations and computer graphic applications ( topics beyond the scope of this resource).
No matter the reason you are teaching matrices, the purpose of this resource is to help you do so.
This set of 10 lessons includes the following topics:
•Introduction to Matrices
•Addition, Subtraction, and Scalar Multiplication of Matrices
•Augmented Matrices
•Multiplication of Matrices
•The Zero and Identity Matrices
•Determinants
•Inverse Matrices
•Using the Calculator for Matrix Math
•Properties of Matrices and Matrix Equations
•Using Matrices for Data Representations/same as REAL WORLD applications
Lessons include guided note(s), practice worksheets and a riddle/joke worksheet.
an exception; Data Representations does not have a joke (sorry - I ran out of silly ideas).
