Learning Invitations: Full Day Kindergarten, Early Learning, First Grade, Reggio

I initially began creating this product with the specific intention of “decoding” Ontario’s new Full Day Kindergarten curriculum and giving teachers a starting point upon which to build their year. Yet it has grown into much more than that. The generality of this product now makes it a great addition to any province, state, or country’s early learning program, kindergarten, or even first grade curriculum.

So what is a Learning Invitation anyways?

A learning invitation is an opportunity set out by the teacher with the intention of intriguing students for further exploration of any given subject/topic. In the kindergarten program specifically, students are simply casually invited to learn, but not “forced” to accept the invitation. In any other program, you might use these learning invitations more along the lines of a center rotation or even small group activity.
