Description

To research geographic features of Japan will grow students' interest in Japan!

This worksheet allows your students to research and understand food, landmarks, cultural events, and specialty products in each prefecture of Japan.

You can assign one or two prefecture(s) to each student as a class project or pick a prefecture to focus on every week.

■ How to use

You can use this resource in different ways depending on how you plan to organize your class. 

Links of some informational resources are in the file (You can check them from the preview as well).

Here are some examples: 

  • Weekly class activity: You can research a prefecture per week in class. Your can let students to select which prefecture they would like to learn/visit. Each student can create own book on Japanese prefectures.
  • Individual/pair work: This can also be used to research individual prefectures. You can create a class book on the Japanese prefectures, with each student/pair researching one or two prefectures. This can be good for bulletin board project as well. 
  • Interview work: If your class or school has students/teachers coming from Japan, your class can have an interview to ask about their hometown prefectures.

  • 8 names of regions in Japan
  • 47 names of prefectures in Japan
  • 人口(じんこう)、面積(めんせき)、㎢(へいほうキロメートル)、県庁所在地(けんちょうしょざいち)
  • ~を食べます、~を見ます、~を買います、~に行きます
