Students will explore the Age of Exploration with map and geography skills and various interactive activities in this engaging Pear Deck presentation. They will analyze the four "G's" - gold, glory, God, and goods - and how they initially inspired Portuguese explorers (da Gama, Dias, and Prince Henry the Navigator) to explore new sea trade routes. These slides can be used as a whole group lecture with note-taking or in self-paced mode, making it a versatile resource for any classroom. This lesson incorporates mixed-level questions to guide instruction and helps students practice important ELA skills such as identifying and applying domain-specific vocabulary, comparing and contrasting trade routes, composing clear written responses, and other writing and reading comprehension skills.
