What educators are saying

This is an EXCELLENT resource to help kiddos understand and practice the skills they need in order to succeed. Bonus points for such an engaging and entertaining lesson, too! I will be using it every year.
My students enjoyed having these flip books to work on together before Halloween! They are a fun and interactive way to learn between content blocks.

Description

This flip book is a fun and interactive way to look at the history of Halloween. It is based on historical facts that deal with Celtic traditions, the involvement of Roman control, and then Christianity. Students will read, comprehend, write, and create as they work their way through this fun and informative project!

Included, you will find:

  • Colored and black and white versions - you choose!
  • 7 Cover Choices
  • 1 Page on the ancient history - comprehension questions included
  • 1 Page on the history of trick-or-treating - students will highlight concepts within the given text
  • 1 Trick-or-treat add-on page with fun facts
  • 1 Halloween legends page that focuses on five major Halloween characters and how they came to be a part of the Halloween season - students will create an interactive mini-flipbook
  • 1 Optional writing prompt and 2 themed writing pages to complete it - these are add-on pages for the "Halloween Legends" page
  • 1 Page on the history of turnips and pumpkins during the Halloween season - students will also create a mini-flipbook on this page, as well.
  • 1 Add-on page that allows students to design their very own jack o' lantern
  • 1 Page of fun facts where students will cut out whimsical ghosts and clouds to decorate a spooky scene
  • 1 Add-on page where students will draw themselves in a costume during the Halloween season
  • I have also included pictures of my finished project so that you can see exactly how I have set it up.
