Description

This low-prep, informative “I Have, Who Has?” maths vocabulary word card game will motivate and educate your Year 2, 3, and 4 kiddos just by having them read to recognise twenty-seven (27) commonly known mathematical and maths-related signs and symbols (equal sign, minus sign, times symbol, hashtag, per cent sign, etc.), in addition to several widely used punctuation marks (full stop, question mark, comma, exclamation mark, etc.).

How It Works: Each student receives one (1) “I Have, Who Has?” card. The student with the first card stands up, reads the TOP statement that begins with “I have the first card,” and ends with the question on the BOTTOM of the card that begins with the words “Who has?” By the time all 28 cards have been read, every student has had the opportunity to stand up and be heard--quick, brain-building, motivating fun!

*IMPORTANT NOTE: The following symbols have been represented with the SAME IMAGES: number symbol AND hashtag (#); full stop AND decimal point (.). So that there is no confusion, you may wish to relay this information to your kiddos BEFORE playing “I Have, Who Has?” :)

*After “I Have, Who Has?” has been played a few times, the cards may be placed in a maths center, maths station, or vocabulary area so that they are accessible for your kiddos to use.

*SUGGESTION: If you have one, you may want to hang the cards on your maths bulletin board or a maths vocabulary word wall.

*Three (3) Maths Signs and Symbols “Picture Gallery” colouring activity pages have been included with this resource should you want your students to colour in pictures related to maths signs and symbols.
