Holocaust Webquest Activity

This Holocaust webquest is a great way to review or introduce students to a study of the Nazi atrocities committed against the Jewish people in Europe.  It would work well in any World History class or as an introductory activity for Holocaust-related novels and other literary works.  

Students will explore the website of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum at https://www.ushmm.org/learn which contains an incredible amount of information, documentation, video clips, survivor testimonies, etc. from the Holocaust.  Students will likely find themselves exploring other parts of the website (not covered by the assignment) just to satisfy their own curiosity.  The answer key provides detailed answers to each question and gives the web address for where the answer was found (so you can guide students to the right page if necessary).  Also, since the webquest contains several links, you have my permission to share/email the document to your STUDENTS ONLY.

Major topics covered: 
Nazi ideology concerning the Jewish people, Anti-Semitism, pogroms, genocide, Ghettos, concentration camps, death camps, Final Solution, Roma, death marches, Nuremberg Trials, Israel, Holocaust survivors, etc.

Documents included:
► 1-page webquest with questions and links (can be printed or sent to students; students would need to transfer the questions to a new document to complete the assignment)
► 5-page webquest with writing space below each question (can be printed for students to fill out; could also be uploaded to a digital notebook like Microsoft OneNote for students to complete by writing or typing on top of the PDF)
► 3-page answer key with links for where the answers were found

This assignment would go great with my Israel: The Royal Tour Video Guide and Quiz product so students can continue the story of the Jewish immigration out of Europe to Palestine following World War II and the Holocaust.
