What educators are saying

This was another great sub plan. Students were engaged, learned a lot, and it made prepping for the sub extremely easy. We were able to do extension activities when I returned and the sub was grateful for a very easy to follow lesson.
This was a great activity and would be great as sub plans! I loved this and it was a great intro into our menus.

Description

This is a 3-day project (for 50-minute classes) that is broken into two parts - first researching the cuisines of 3 different Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Mexico, Peru), and then creating an authentic restaurant menu on powerpoint incorporating these foods. Students learn that most of the Spanish-speaking world doesn't eat tacos and they also learn what typical foods like flan, paella, chilaquiles, and tamales are.

Paper and digital versions are included.

This zip file includes:

  • a webquest
  • a project rubric
  • an example slide (of a Russian dish so students can't copy)
  • a powerpoint menu template
  • a Teacher's Guide with suggestions to ensure every student is successful

This is a great project for students to do during the food unit and could easily be modified for a higher level or another language!

Format of resources:

  • resources are available as editable Microsoft Word documents and as PDFs
  • the Project Template for students is a Microsoft Powerpoint file

This webquest & project combo is ideal for:
