Description

I had heard about people using Virtual Field Trips on Google Slides for elementary music lessons, but I wasn't sure. Then I tried it and I am hooked! This Virtual Field Trip to the Hawaii teaches Hawaiian music. It is perfect for the end of the year, of Asian American and Pacific Islander Month in May, but great all year round! Includes dancing, singing, learning about Hawaiian culture and more. Songs include Nani Wale Na Hala, Ua Nani ‘O Nu’uanu, and Aloha 'Oe.

In this Google Slides activity, students will click on a picture in "Hawaii". Each thing that students click on takes them to a different portion of the virtual field trip. After every section of the Virtual Field Trip, there is a slide where students can show their learning by answering questions.

This Virtual Field Trip teaches Hawaiian music. It includes different songs and activities. It teaches three different folk songs (recordings included), Hawaiian culture, hula, and about the ukulele.

I designed this field trip for second, third, and fourth grade music lessons.

This is intended to be done in class, but each of the songs also has a video along with it so students who can read could do it on their own.
