What educators are saying

Great resource!! I used it when introducing clay and then we made clay models of each of the Greek styles.
This was a great resource that my students kept coming back to when we were learning about Greek Pottery! Thank you for the great visuals!

Description

UPDATED!!!

I have updated the Greek Pottery History and Styles sheet, and added some printable cards on all the styles as well. These cards can also be used in creating your own handouts, slides or PowerPoint.

*Original Smart Notebook file is still included.

This unit includes a Greek Pottery Handout to start the project, a Greek Pottery Guide that describes and lists several ancient Greek pots, and a Smart notebook file that can be used as an agenda guide for the entire unit.

Students will also use ELA to compare and contrast pots and explain their choices. The handout also includes comparing Geometric, Red Figure and Black Figure styles.

I currently use this project with my 6th graders. This can be adapted and used with grades 6-12. Wheel throwing can be substituted for the coil building as well. This unit last 7-8 days and that includes the glazing.

You will be able to edit the Smart notebook.

The Greek History and Styles sheet is now a PDF. (But contact me if you need something!)
