Why focus on gratitude?

Practicing gratitude has been show to build a stronger immune system, lower stress, make someone more helpful and generous, and raise overall levels of happiness and appreciation. It is a POWERFUL way to help your students learn about appreciation, paying it forward, and compassion.

Why teach social and emotional learning skills?

Social and emotional learning provides a foundation for safe and positive learning. Research has shown that is improves academic achievement while simultaneously decreasing disruptive behavior inside the classroom. It also increases behaviors like kindness, empathy, and compassion.

How long should my gratitude lessons take each day?

Each lesson can take anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on how many of the activities you choose to use for each day. This is only a suggested time frame. Your class might need more time to complete the activities listed for each day.
