Description

This is a fun way to learn about grammar by mixing movement with learning. The teacher will need to read the instructions on each slide while the students get to do actions as they learn about compound sentences and using commas before coordinating conjunctions. It is important to set rules prior to this activity to ensure that students are moving with silence and with hands to themselves. For instance, make it a rule to fold arms while instructions are read aloud by using the signal, “Ready Position.” Along with this, you may make this a game by giving points to students each time they choose the correct answer. You may also manage this your own way. The actions can be done sitting or standing; it is your preference. This activity takes approximately 30 minutes, but you may also split it up in 2 sessions.
