Grade 5 Social Studies - First Nations Dance Unit (Ontario)
Description
This unit is a great way to link Dance and Social Studies together. It works very well as an extension to our Grade 5 Social Studies - First Nations and Europeans in New France and Early Canada unit, but it can also be used on its own as a stand-alone Dance unit. It is a very effective cross-curricular unit that will help you address key expectations from the Dance, Social Studies, and Language curricula.
This resource is a complete unit that guides students through research of a First Nations Dance of their choice before having them complete a written response / critique of their chosen dance. Simply open and follow the lesson plans. It's as simple as that. Your students will love it and so will you!
The package includes:
- Social Studies and Dance Curriculum links
- 15 Detailed Lessons to Follow
- First Nations Dance Research Organizer
- Completed First Nations Dance Research Organizer Exemplar
- Response/Critique Writing Organizer (2 pages)
