Global Immigration Simulation - Push and Pull Factors
- Google Driveā¢ folder
Description
This product is an engaging, hands-on way for students to learn about push and pull immigration factors. Colored candies or beads (not included) represent different groups of people.
This simulation is set up to be played in groups of six but can be modified for smaller groups. Each student represents an imaginary country and as students go through the event cards their population is affected by the events listed and they lose or gain their candy population. Students record their population at the beginning of the game and at the end and analyze what occurred in their country and why.
See the preview for more detailed directions about how to play.
Included are:
- Detailed teacher instructions on how to play and potential answers for reflection
- 24 task cards
- A 2-page pre- and post-simulation recording sheet where students classify events as push or pull factors
- A one-page reflection on the experience connecting events to the real world
