Description
Do your students struggle to grasp the difference between masculine, feminine, singular, and plural nouns? This noun-sorting activity will give them hands-on practice with this often tricky topic! In this activity, your students will sort the given list of 36 Spanish nouns into four categories: masculine singular, feminine singular, masculine plural, and feminine plural. You could easily adapt this activity for other nouns or adjectives, simply by providing your own list. In addition to the hands-on practice, this resource also includes two worksheet versions with the same nouns. Click here to save 20% on a bundle of all of my sorting activities, or 30% on a megabundle of activities for Spanish 1 students!
This resource contains:
- four noun sorting sheets (masculine vs feminine only, singular vs plural only, two versions of masculine singular, feminine singular, masculine plural, and feminine plural)
- one page of thirty-six Spanish nouns with dotted lines for cutting
- one worksheet where students choose between masculine vs feminine and singular vs plural and translate the nouns to English
- one worksheet where students choose between masculine vs feminine and singular vs plural and write an original sentence in Spanish using the indicated noun
- answer keys for the sentence sorting sheets and both worksheets
- tips for using the resource and a table of contents
This activity works well individually and in small groups and would be a great introductory activity (by using inductive reasoning), application, or review activity. Although designed for use in level one, it also makes a great review for Spanish two or three.
