Description
Looking for a hands-on greater than and less than activity for your special education class? Students will love this cute cookie jar sorting mats! Students will sort through the cookie numbers and place them under less than or greater than the number on the lid. This can be done 1:1, in a small group or even as an independent work task.
What's included in this special education fractions activity?
- Greater than 50 and less than 50 sorting mats and numbers
- Greater than 100 and less than 100 sorting mats and numbers
- Greater than 150 and less than 150 sorting mats and numbers
- Greater than 200 and less than 200 sorting mats and numbers
PREP
- Cut around the cookie jar and each individual cookie
- Laminate so you can reuse it each year!
- Apply hard velcro on 9 spots on the cookie jar and soft velcro behind each cookie
- Separate the pieces in large ziplock bags so that they don’t get mixed up. I suggest grouping them by number. ex. “less than 100” and “greater than 100” jar and cookies together in 1 ziplock bag
OPTION 2
Don't have time to laminate and prep? Then no problem! Make this a cut and paste activity by just printing and handing it out to your students! Your students can practice cutting out the cookies and glueing them on the cookie jar! Just cut off the title on top of the cookie sheet so its not too easy for them :P
