Readers' theater is a terrific teaching tool for developing students' reading fluency, and students will enjoy this 6-page readers' theater script that puts a new twist on the fairy tale of Cinderella. The script is suitable for a group of 6-10 readers and takes about 7 minutes to perform.

The readers' theater script also includes a list of “Watch-out words!” This feature highlights challenging words students may need help with as they practice. These words also make terrific candidates for classroom vocabulary instruction.

Additionally, the script contains numerous bracketed prompts—hints like [confused] or [worried]—that help guide students’ expression as they practice and perform.

I hope you and your students enjoy this free readers' theater script!
