Food Allergy Awareness Unit

I am one of 15 million Americans who have been diagnosed with food allergies. As a child, my food allergies impacted every aspect of my life... ESPECIALLY, school! As a teacher, I created this unit as a way to spread awareness during Food Allergy Awareness Week in addition school and state mandated trainings. The advice, experiences, and stories used in the Unit should always be supplemental and come second to the safety protocols of each school and home environment.

The unit uses literature and activities to discuss food allergy safety in school & home environments.

The Unit includes:

- 6 activities that align to two literature resources

-Medical Contact form to send home with students

-Bringing my Food Allergies to School student workbook

*** Please note that the Unit is best used with the literature provided. However, the powerpoint can still provide valuable information if teachers do not have access to the following books:
