These 10 stories begin with reading sight words and CVC decodable words and build up slowly using consonant blends and digraphs with short vowel sounds. These stories can be used to assess students' fluency and comprehension of their own reading. These short stories are meant to be used the second half of kindergarten through beginning of first grade. There is also a student recording sheet to record scores on assessments, make observations, and write what skill the student needs to work on next.
