What educators are saying

I use these as a jumping-off point in learning and discussing flexibility. We don't use them like typical task cards.
While I purchased this with one of my children in mind, all of my children absolutely loved reading through these and thinking through flexible thinking ideas. It has helped them all have some perspective.

Description

These 76 task cards include real-life scenarios for students to practice flexible thinking skills. Flexible thinking means being able to perspective-take and understand situations in more than one way.

Scenarios include a variety of situations, including at home, at school, and with friends. Each task card encourages students to think of at least two reasons for each situation. This will help even the most rigid thinkers to consider other perspectives.

Digital Version

A digital version has been added for Google Drive. This allows students to type their responses on a device to every card!

An answer key with sample responses is included. This can help kids work on their own or in small groups to "check" their responses.

Why is Flexible Thinking Important?

Flexible thinking involves considering multiple perspectives to a problem or situation, and then using clues to determine what the most reasonable or likely perspective really is. This skill is greatly linked with social skills, as one needs to interpret body language, facial expressions, words, and more to understand the social situations around them. Developing stronger flexible thinking skills can help kids and young adults deal with challenging situations in school, at home, and beyond.
