I am beyond THRILLED today to share with you a brand new First Grade Math Curriculum that is designed to make math FUN, hands-on and engaging for First Grade students! If you are looking to get away from the boring box curriculum or even just supplement your current math curriculum, THIS is the Kindergarten Math curriculum for you! You can use the units as a whole math curriculum or as a supplement to any classroom or homeschool math instruction. They can be seamlessly implemented into any math curriculum!

How are the Units Covered?

Each unit will offer two components to help make the math units

meaningful and engaging for whole group, small group or individual lessons. The First Grade Math Units can be a supplemental resource for current math curriculum, or it can be used as a whole math curriculum. The curriculum is designed to give the teacher flexibility and freedom to rearrange the units to fit the needs of his/her students. Since there are so many practice pages and centers in each unit, the teacher can use many of the pages as a spiral review as the year progresses.

Component Number 1

***NO PREP Practice Pages- We all know that kids needs lots of practice to master math concepts and make them concrete. Each First Grade Math Unit will have a variety of fun NO PREP practice/worksheet pages for students to practice, practice, practice! These NO PREP practice pages allow students to master math concepts through cutting and pasting, coloring, dice games and more!

Math Centers Included in this Unit

*Center 1: Telling Time: Write the Room Find the clock cards around the room. Write the digital times on the recording sheet to match clocks.

*Center 2: What Time of the Day?: Read the question. Decide which time would be the correct time for the activity. Write the time on the recording sheet.

*Center 3: Which Watch?: Read the question. Decide which watch answers the question. Color the watch on the recording sheet.

*Center 4: Spin and Draw the Time to the Hour:Spin the spinner. Write the time and draw the hands on the clock.

*Center 5: Spin and Draw the Time to the Half Hour: Spin the spinner. Write the time and draw the hands on the clock.

*Center 6: Spin and Cover the Time 12:30-5:30- Spin the spinner. Cover a square to match the spin.

*Center 7: Spin and Cover the Time 6:30-11:30- Spin the spinner. Cover a square to match the spin.

*Center 8: Spin the Time: Spin both spinners. Write the time and draw the hands on the clock.

*Center 9: Bingo Time: Play with multiple players. Flip a card. Cover a matching clock on the BINGO board. The first person to get 5 in a row calls out Tic-Tock-BINGO!

*Center 10: Tic-Tock-Toe: Take turns with a friend saying the times on the clocks. Each player uses a different color to cover the clock. The first person to get three in a row wins.

*Center 11:True or False?- Look at the hands on the clock. Decide if the time is true or false and sort to the mat.

*Center 12: Clip the Time- Read the time on the digital clock. Clip the analog clock that matches. Color the matching clock on the recording sheet.

*Center 13: Time Puzzles- Complete the time puzzles by matching the analog clock, digital clock and written time

*Center 14: What Time is it?- Read the times on the cards and sort them to the correct digital clock mat.

*Center 15: Elapsed Time-Read the word problem. Use the clock to help you solve the problem.

How to Teach the Units

The grade level standards for each practice page and center are clearly indicated on the First Grade Math Standard Sheet. There is no guessing as to what standard is being covered. The best part about these units is that you KNOW for sure that ALL the standards are being covered. This type of resources makes it easy for the teacher to supplement their current math curriculum or implement these units as new curriculum.
