What educators are saying
I used this with my students to give them a break from sit-and-get instruction and practice with figurative language. I posted them in the hallway and they students loved being able to walk around for review.
Description
Help your students understand elements of figurative language with this set of 32 task cards. Each card features a passage from a famous work of literature, along with a prompt asking students to identify and/or explain the device's function. The cards can work with both middle and high school students.
A recording sheet and an answer key are included in both Word and PDF formats (the task cards themselves are a PDF). These cards work well as a paired, partnered, or group activity. Print, cut, and laminate the cards to make them last longer. A copy of the task cards without numbers is also included.
Use these task cards as quizzes, bell-ringers, exit slips, group work, test prep review, or as a class activity.
