Description

One thing my students are always surprised to learn is how much the President is responsible for. Whether it's leading the military, acting as a diplomat, or running an extremely large organization the President is a busy person! This lesson plan teaches students about the roles of the President of the United States.

This a very student centered lesson with the teacher acting as a facilitator. Students are asked to compare what their own job responsibilities to those of the President. They will create posters based on the different roles of the President and present them to each other, creating their own notes along the way. The lesson ends with two formative assessments. The first is a journaling question with the second being an exit card that you can use to gauge how well your students learned the material!
