Life Science
♥Create a Creature (Animal Adaptations)
This differentiated science, writing, and art project will assess understanding of environments/biomes and animal adaptations. Students will choose an environment and create an animal (or adapt an existing one) to survive in the new environment.
♥Monster Lab (Inherited Traits and Learned Behaviors)
This differentiated science, writing, and art project is a meaningful and engaging way to assess understanding of your class study of inherited traits and learned behaviors. After creating a parent monster and offspring, students will describe and label traits the offspring inherited from the parent. They will also describe two behaviors learned from the parent.
Earth Science
♥The Perfect Camping Spot (Landforms)
This integrated science, writing, and art project is a fun way to assess understanding of landforms. Students will be assessed on their understanding of the characteristics of landforms. In this project, students will create their perfect camping spot among three different landforms.
♥National Parks Weather Expedition (Observe and Track Weather)
This differentiated science and writing project is a meaningful addition to your weather unit, with an added exposure to geography (map skills) and landforms (national parks). Students will track weather data from national parks and use the data to predict the weather for the following day. In this project, students plan a trip to three national parks, each in different areas of the United States. Students track the weather for four days and then predict the weather they will experience during their expedition. The goal of the perfect weather expedition is to experience different weather in all three areas.
