About the Doodle Back to School Fact Hunt, Infographic & About Me Activity:

Kick off the new school year with this fun, informative, and engaging doodle infographic and about me activity!

First, the Back to School-themed doodle infographic will have students up on their feet, rotating around the classroom, collecting facts, and learning! The end result is a visually appealing and informative doodle-style infographic about school. Students learn fun facts about schools around the world, school supplies, school buses, and learning. Its extra-long size, makes it fun, too!

Then, in the spirit of infographics, students will create their own infographic about themselves. They’ll report out on stats about themselves, share about their hobbies and favorite places, write a meaningful quote, list words to describe themselves and provide insight into who they are. The About Me activity is a great way for students to share about themselves and learn about others in the classroom! (Two versions are available! One is a single page and the other is a 3-D version!)

About the Growth Mindset Resource:

This Doodle and Do resource is designed to help students learn about growth mindset. First, students will read a nonfiction passage about growth mindset (created in a doodle-style). While reading the doodle article, they’ll answer questions and sketch doodles to show their understanding of the text (directly in the passage). Then, they’ll creatively respond to the text and showcase their learning on a Doodle Notes page. After they learn about growth mindset, they can “do” 4 fun activities to help them develop a growth mindset.

The activities can be taught sequentially or at different times in the school year. They include making writing prompt pockets and responding to growth mindset prompts, analyzing a growth mindset poem with an interactive flip book, creating a lock and key reflection, and participating in growth mindset discussions with task cards.

About the Doodle Book Review:

Take book reports and book projects to a whole new level with this super fun Doodle Book Review! First, students complete a step-by-step planning guide. They’ll reflect on the book’s characters, plot, setting, and theme. In addition, they’ll rate the book, identify an important quote, write a summary, describe the book in just three words, and even make up an award for the book. Next, they’ll use their insights from their planning pages to design a Doodle Book Review. Using a doodle template, they’ll create a book review like no other! It’s visually appealing and super motivating! This book report is so much fun!

First, students complete a planning page to collect information about the unit that they just finished studying in class. They’ll record important concepts, critical vocabulary, fun facts, and their learning from the unit. About the End of the Year Reflection:

This end of the year activity is all about reflection and fun! Students will be creating a doodle suitcase filled with memories and lessons from their school year. First, they’ll complete a guided reflection. They’ll write about highlights, challenges, favorite moments, and lessons they learned during the year. In addition, students will reflect on their own growth and look toward the future. Then, they’ll compile their end of the year reflection into a super fun doodle suitcase! Students will also design customized luggage stickers for the front of their doodle suitcase to highlight special moments during the year. Finally, they’ll add fun elements to their doodle memory suitcase like a luggage strap, handles, and a luggage tag. The end result is a meaningful and fun end of the school year reflection!
