Looking for a digital breakout covering early explorers? If so, then this is the document for you! All you need is connection to the internet! This breakout is on a Google site.

A digital breakout has students find a series of online clues to unlock "locks." Breakouts are a great way to increase student engagement in the 21st century. The 4Cs are incorporated as students must collaborate, communicate, create, and think critically!

• Christopher Columbus
• Francisco Vasquez de Coronado
• Magellan
• Hernandes de Soto
• Technological developments that made sea exploration by latitude and longitude possible (e.g., compass, sextant, astrolabe, seaworthy ships, chronometers, gunpowder)
• Routes of the major land explorers of the United States and the Atlantic trade routes that linked Africa, the West Indies, the British colonies, and Europe or locate on maps of North and South America land claimed by Spain, France, England, Portugal, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Russia.
• English, French, Spanish, Dutch, and Indian nations for control of North America.
