Description

Discover how to access over 50 middle school math activities that are online, engaging, and provide high-quality math practice for all your math classes, for less than $4.00 a month!

  • From area and perimeter to fraction and decimal operations to ratios, probability, and surface area, you've got lots of math topics to choose from!
  • AND when you β€˜renew’ in future years, you always receive a $20 discount, making it less than $3.00 a month!

Give your students easy access to a variety of math games and activities to help them practice and review 5th-7th grade math concepts throughout the year, on the Cognitive Cardio Math Activities site.

  • These activities are great for remediation, on-level practice, and enrichment.
  • Students just need the site password (they all use the same one, so it's very easy) and they're ready to go!
  • You can even give students the passwords to use the activities over the summer, to avoid the summer slide!Β

Check out the preview and Video preview above for what's included and for a quick overview of the site and how it works.

The online math activities give you easy access to over 1900 math questions:

  • Most activities pull from a bank of questions, giving students some different problems each time they play.
  • All activities provide results/feedback for students in some form.
  • All students use the same password, which changes each month.
  • The site is VERY easy to use, with virtually no prep.

Teacher, K.G., shared: "My students LOVE this resource. The online activities are great for extra practice or review. They cover a wide range of 6th grade math skills, so we use these often throughout the year. Students also love repeating an activity to see if they can improve their score. Thank you for creating these!

Teachers use these no-prep digital math activities for:

  • Math centers
  • Test prep
  • 'May do' list
  • Fast finishers
  • Homework
  • Assessments and more

Teacher A.W, shared: β€œI have this on my "may do" activity list for students to practice when there is extra time. I will also specifically ask them to play certain games when I am studying them in class or before a major test!”

How does this online math resource work?

1. Purchase this resource, which is a PDF with:

  • A link to a Google Form
  • Instructions for using the site
  • List of current activities - topics, types of activities, number of questions in each

2. Fill out the Google Form. In the submission confirmation is a link to the Password document.

  • This document has 13 passwords - one for the month you purchase and one for each of the next 12 months.
  • If you purchase in the middle of the school year, you can use with your current classes, give them the passwords to use over the summer and then use with your classes the next year until your year expires. Then you can renew at a discount!

The digital math activities:

  • Are housed on the Cognitive Cardio Games website
  • Currently include 43 member activities
  • Include 9 free activities for you and your students to try. If you haven't tried these yet, please try them to be sure they work as you'd like.
  • Cover mostly 5th-7th grade math concepts
  • Are described in detail in this free download, with types of activities, concepts covered, number of questions for each activity

Tech Info

  • Students need an internet connection.
  • Activities work on computers, laptops, and Chrome books, as well as iPads and tablets and are supported on all browsers.
  • Please try the free activities before purchasing, to see how the activities work and to be sure they'll work on the devices your students will use.Β

⭐️⭐️If you're interested in a shorter access period, check out the monthly option. (The yearly access process is also more streamlined on my Thinkific site.)

⭐️⭐️Attention past members: to purchase for another year, PLEASE select the 'Buy additional licenses' button so you get the $20 renewal discount!

FAQs

Q: Do students get the same math questions every time they do an activity?

For the Truth or Dare games: yes.Β The logic in designing the Truth or Dares was pretty intense and can't be quickly changed to offer different questions each time; however, I will explore making versions that will allow for that.

For other member activities: NO.Β Other member activities will pull from question banks, so while a student may get one or two repeat questions when they play multiple times, the entire set of questions they see will be a bit different each time.

For free activities: yes

Q:Β How many students can log in at once?

A: As many students as you want. Students use a password to access each activity and there's no limit to the number of students who can access at the same time.

Q: Can I assign an activity in Google Classroom?

A: Yes!Β  Each activity has its own link, so you can assign an activity by adding the link to your assignment in Google Classroom. Examples are shown in my blog post.

Q: How do I see students' results?

A: All of the math activities show results in some form. For example, the Truth or Dare games have an "Answer Sheet." Many of the other activities show students' points on the main screen; some show the point totals on an ending results screen. Others show results by color, like the absolute value activity shown below (green for correct, red for incorrect).

Other Info

  • The questions in the Truth or Dare games are the same as the questions in the paper/pencil version and the Google Truth or Dare versions, but in this web-based version, the Dare questions are multiple choice.
  • Some of the activities use the same questions as my print and digital Footloose task cards.

Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Draw polygons in the coordinate plane given coordinates for the vertices; use coordinates to find the length of a side joining points with the same first coordinate or the same second coordinate. Apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.
Know the formulas for the area and circumference of a circle and use them to solve problems; give an informal derivation of the relationship between the circumference and area of a circle.
Interpret and compute quotients of fractions, and solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions, e.g., by using visual fraction models and equations to represent the problem. For example, create a story context for (2/3) Γ· (3/4) and use a visual fraction model to show the quotient; use the relationship between multiplication and division to explain that (2/3) Γ· (3/4) = 8/9 because 3/4 of 8/9 is 2/3. (In general, (𝘒/𝘣) Γ· (𝘀/π˜₯) = 𝘒π˜₯/𝘣𝘀.) How much chocolate will each person get if 3 people share 1/2 lb of chocolate equally? How many 3/4-cup servings are in 2/3 of a cup of yogurt? How wide is a rectangular strip of land with length 3/4 mi and area 1/2 square mi?
Fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals using the standard algorithm for each operation.
