Description
A literature circle is a student-led discussion group focused on a particular piece of literature. Students in the group take on different roles, such as discussion leader, summarizer, or connector, and prepare for the discussion by reading and annotating the text based on their role. During the discussion, each student shares their insights and analysis of the text, building on one another's ideas and observations. The goal of the literature circle is to engage students in critical thinking, analysis, and interpretation of a text, while also fostering a sense of community and collaboration in the classroom. Literature circles can be used with a variety of texts, from novels to poems to articles, and can be adapted to fit the needs and interests of different groups of students.
