Description

This activity is meant to help your kiddos with using quotation marks/dialogue in their writing. You can use this in a center, for morning work, or as a whole group activity.

When I used this in my room, I placed these cards all over the classroom, gave students the recording sheet, and had them complete four of the cards. We then came back together to discuss as a class.

The students are given the names of the two people having a conversation on the card. They are then given the first line of dialogue. They then need to write two more lines of dialogue to continue the conversation.

You could also laminate the cards and have students write their dialogue on the back with a dry erase marker.

There is also a poster included for your classroom, as well as smaller versions of the poster that you can give to students to place inside of their notebooks.

Happy Teaching!
