Description
Need a way to reduce cheating and plagiarism? A way to cut down on arguing after a cheating incident? A way to talk to students after they have plagiarized? Wording to use on cheating or plagiarism referrals or emails to parents?
This SEVEN-PAGE, editable Word document has everything I use for dealing with cheating and plagiarism; it has been honed and refined over 13 years of classroom teaching.
What you’ll get…
- A list of rules to go over before quizzes and tests, especially at the beginning of the year; this cuts down on arguing when or if you have to deal with a behavior issue or cheating issue during or after an assessment; you can refer students, parents, and administrators to the stated rules if there is a question about whether you were clear about what was or was not allowed.
- Language about what plagiarism and cheating are, what steps you will take after an incident of plagiarism or cheating, and what the consequences will be (editable).
- A student handout with language explaining what is and is not okay when it comes to helping others and using sources.
- 2.5 pages of sample referral language and/or language to use in parent emails when a student has cheated or plagiarized; this is what I have used during my 14 years in the classroom. Use it as an example if you feel you need a template to get started with what to write.
