Description

Supplement your elementary music Day of the Dead/Dia de Los Muertos lesson with these color by note/musical symbol sheets! They can be used as assessments, early finisher activities, sub plans, and more.

There are three types of Color By Note/Symbol sheets included:

3 Color by Rhythmic Value 

  • Guitar picture: eighth notes, quarter notes, quarter rest
  • Sugar Skull 1 picture: eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, quarter rest
  • Calaca picture: sixteenth notes, eighth notes, quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, quarter rest, half rest

*Additionally, all of these sheets have a version with note symbols in the key and one with traditional note names only in the key. 

3 Color by Treble Clef Note Names

  • Alter picture: Space notes (FACE)
  • Food picture: Line notes (EGBDF)
  • Sugar Skull 2 picture: All notes (ABCDEFG)

*Additionally, two of these sheets have a version with letter names in the key and a version with line/space numbers in the key.

3 Color by Musical Symbol

  • Candle/Offering picture: Dynamics (pianissimo through fortissimo, forte piano)
  • Coffin/Grave picture: Sharp, flat, natural, treble clef, bass clef
  • Cross picture: Repeat sign, staff, time signature, breath mark, crescendo, decrescendo

There are also reference sheets with Note and Rest Value names, Treble Clef Notes names, Dynamics, and Musical Symbol names if you want to copy those on the back of any of the sheets for students to use as a guide. 

These were created with the goal to make something every grade level (K-5) could use--there is something for everyone!
