Cooking Life Skills Worksheets Special Education Activities Reading a Recipe

You will download a life skills worksheets packet for your special education students to practice reading a recipe and cooking. These life skills special education activities work well in your functional math and reading curriculum.

Your students will be reading a recipe to make healthy cereal bars. It is a real recipe, so you may also use it with your cooking measurement activities. There are 20 reading comprehension questions about the recipe. Finally, using measuring cups and manipulatives (optional), such as corn, rice, or beans, your students will answer 8 measurements related to cooking. For example, how many 1/4 cups are in 1/2 cup? How many 1 cups are in 1 gallon?

NOTE: This recipe uses peanut butter; however, sunflower seed butter may be used for a nut allergy option.
