What educators are saying

My students enjoyed this hands-on activity. It kept them engaged and interested in sorting triangles.
I was able to use this in my 7th grade class to review the properties and two-dimensional figures with a hands-on approach. Thank you.

Important Information

  • With this product you get a version of the chart with and without QR codes so you can choose which version to use in your classroom. The QR Codes next to the different types of triangles give the definitions of each type of triangle.
  • The fact that the angles in a triangle add up to 180° (Triangle Sum Theorem) is required for some of the triangles. If doing this with younger students I recommend you quickly introduce that concept and find the missing angles in the triangles before letting the students complete the activity.
  • There are 5 “Not Possible” cards that students will put in 5 of the squares on the chart. When classifying triangles students are expected to classify triangles into the most specific category. Thus, “Isosceles & Equiangular” is marked as Not Possible because any isosceles triangle that is equiangular is also equilateral so the most specific category would be “Equilateral & Equiangular”.
  • The letters inside each triangle make for easy teacher checking by just checking the letter.
  • Answer key included
