What educators are saying

I added this to our Holidays Around the World unit this year. The class is really enjoying the material!

Description

Christmas Around the World is fun to teach in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades and this projects brings this into Google Classroom and Google Slides. Students start by reading articles and infographics about celebrations around the world and end with an awesome hallway display.

This craftivity is a fun way to engage your students in the month of December and specifically, for the Christmas season. Students read 5 infographics about how Christmas is celebrated around the world. Students read one infographic each day, completing the activities that go along with each.

The 5 articles included are about:

  • Brazil
  • Kenya
  • Germany
  • South Africa
  • Spain

Each infographic is packed with information and engaging material for the students to write about and discuss.

Students then take this information and place this on the digital note-catcher pages. They also explore Google Maps, Google Earth, as well as to learn various other digital literacy skills inside of Google Slides. This can then be printed, colored, and glued together to make a great hallway display.

This is a wonderful way to meet social studies standards, while reading and writing during the month of December.

I hope your kiddos enjoy!

Happy Holidays!
