Description
Your students will use these Google Slides as a digital notebook in order to complete research over THREE different careers that work with children. This digital notebook is specified for a Child Development course, but as it is completely editable, it could be modified for other Career and Technical Education courses. I would also recommend this one for Early Childhood Education courses, although not all the careers are in the education sector.
Students will each make a copy of the slides and edit them as they research a variety of careers separated by the following sectors:
- Education and Training Careers
- Social Service Careers
- Medical and Healthcare Careers
The careers are already listed for you and your students! You may add or subtract from the lists, but each career cluster has an average of 11 specific positions (35+ total!) for students to choose from. I included a slide with a few resources/websites to complete their research, and then each career cluster is followed by a slide that asks questions about the career they chose (see fourth image above). Then one of the last slides has reflection questions about the one career they are most likely to pursue. Finally, there's an extension activity for students to create a digital poster showcasing the most important information about their chosen child-related career.
