What educators are saying

I love the color by number activities as a review for a unit. This is great. Only thing I would like is to be able to edit the color choices.
This was a great and valuable addition to my chemistry class. I am glad that I purchased these resources. The student loved it.

Description

Here is a great way to review some of the basics about atoms: element names and symbols, atomic numbers and masses, number of protons, neutrons and electrons and the number of atoms in a molecule. And your students get to color! They’ll love this!

If you like this style of worksheet, you will love my Chemistry Review Bundle Chemistry Review Bundle which includes 16 pages like these here. All of these review pages are also including in my cost-saving, amazing Chemistry Bundle!

This resource consists of two review pages.

The first, “Find the Image” has students:

• identify chemical symbols from the Periodic Table of Elements

• determine the number of Hydrogen atoms in a given molecule

• determine the number of Carbon atoms in a given molecule

• determine the total number of atoms in a given molecule

If students do this properly they will color the image of a parrot. Red, blue, yellow and black pencil crayons/markers are required for this activity.

The second review page, “Crack the Puzzle” has students use a Periodic Table of Elements to determine the missing information:

• element name

• standard atomic notation

• atomic mass

• atomic number

• number of protons, electrons and neutrons

Students use that information to shade areas that reveals that “Science rules!”

I’ve used these review pages with my students for over 5 years now and they always love them! It is also a great activity to leave with a supply teacher.

What’s included in the zipped folder?

1. EDITABLE .docx versions of both review pages, as well as the .pdf versions

2. .pdf solutions for both pages

Check out the Preview above for a closer look!

If you are looking for more creative ways to study Chemistry check out the Naming Compounds Spinner (my best seller) and the Naming Compounds Puzzle.

This resource can also be found in my cost-saving Chemistry Bundle.

Have fun!
