Description
This Causes of the American Revolution timeline will be a hit with your students!
This PRINT & DIGITAL activity provides students with a timeline of major causes of the Revolutionary War along with a brief description of each event.
This student-created Causes of the American Revolution timeline makes a great visual reference for students, and is perfect for use in interactive notebooks during your revolutionary war unit! The differentiated options provide 4 levels of scaffolding to make this accessible for all of your students.
Students will take notes on each of the causes of the American Revolution on the included note cards. Then they will put the events in order to create a Revolutionary War timeline.
Causes of the Revolutionary War include:
- Sugar Act
- Stamp Act
- Quartering Act
- Townshend Act
- British troops arrive in Boston
- Boston Massacre
- Tea Acts
- Boston Tea Party
- Intolerable Acts
- First Continental Congress
- Battles of Lexington and Concord
Four options are included for easy differentiation: cut & glue timeline, scaffolded notes, dated timeline for students to write in the events, and a blank timeline. Each version is included in full and half page size.
Use this timeline as a review after teaching the Causes of the American Revolution or before standardized testing!
For a fun activity to incorporate some movement into your day, have students line themselves up in order of the Revolutionary War causes without talking to one another. This activity challenges students to work together to put the causes in order.
Google Drive Version included for digital learning!
