California Explorers Reading Passages {Cabrillo, Drake, and Vizcaino}

This year it's time to go deeper into our Social Studies units, so I created in depth nonfiction Reading Passages about the specific Explorers that we will be studying.

This product has 3 sections:
First, the explorers have their own passages, multiple choice assessment, and a strategy grid to assist students into looking closely at the text. Answer keys are also provided.

Then, the 3 explorers are to be compared through 4 pages of multiple choice questions, and short responses. An answer key is also included for the multiple choice assessment.

Finally, there are thinking maps included in the product that can be used for individual students, groups to work together, or as a whole class brainstorm. Please check out the real pictures located in the preview.
