What educators are saying

My students loved this activity. We used it during small group. I loved the variety of story mats, graphic organizers, and worksheets. This resource is very engaging and fun. It covered so many standards and was an easy way to teach story problems.
These pages are perfect to put in math tubs to practice counting! Many ways to use these pages to practice different skills.

Description

Just add any objects or manipulatives to the 100 included math mats and you have an engaging activity that can be used to master many different math standards!

How do I use this?

This product allows teacher and student an engaging avenue for building number sense through the concrete act of placing any objects on a picture mat. Through this act, students work on one-to-one correspondence, counting, and creating sets of numbers. Teacher and students discuss the value of numbers being built. Create math stories and work on skip counting once mastery has been reached on understanding number values.

Math tools for building number sense and basic computation

This product contains 100 math mats to create engaging ways to build number sense in developing mathematicians. Any objects or manipulatives can be used to count and build sets of numbers. Keep it simple with a bag of beans from the grocery store, or use fun seasonal mini-erasers, small toys, or math manipulatives!

This unit also contains math tools for more structured work with number sense, counting sets, and simple addition and subtraction stories. Number cards, 5 frames, 10 frames, 20 frames, number lines, and part-part-whole mats are included.

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
When counting objects, say the number names in the standard order, pairing each object with one and only one number name and each number name with one and only one object.
Understand that the last number name said tells the number of objects counted. The number of objects is the same regardless of their arrangement or the order in which they were counted.
