These Back to School Stations can be used on the first day of school to get your students engaged and excited about the classroom! Each station has a different purpose and has been created to make the first week of school plans a breeze for you as it is a very low-prep activity. The stations include: classroom scavenger hunt, student survey, investigate the teacher (inferencing), get to know you game (silly debates) and classroom expectations.
THE STATIONS:
Classroom Scavenger Hunt: students will walk around the classroom trying to locate specific areas, zones, supplies or tools they will need to be using throughout the year
Student Survey: students will independently complete a get-to-know you survey for you to read and review
Investigate the Teacher: students will look around the classroom and make 3 observations about the classroom and analyze what they think that says about you (your personality, character traits, teaching style, etc).
Get to Know You Game: in the small groups they are doing the rotations in, students will discuss "Silly Debate" question topics - a FUN ice breaker that doesn't require them to come up with fun facts about themselves but DOES allow them to learn about each other in a more indirect approach
Classroom Expectations: each group will come up with a set of classroom expectations - what they think a classroom should look like, sound like and feel like. You can use these to come up with a whole class set once the rotations are complete!

The BODY TEXT on the worksheets/slideshow is editable so that if you need to make any changes (e.g., add or remove anything from the classroom scavenger hunt) you can. The titles are NOT editable.
