    Description

    Hello Fellow Teacher,

Thank you for considering this bundle. Here are the four items included in this grouping:

    1. TITLE: 366 Affirmations for Middle & HS Students: Confidence, Joy, Goals, & More

Looking for a way to incorporate social emotional learning into your daily routine with your middle or high school students? This item includes 366 affirmations - one for each day of the (leap) year. The affirmations are numbered; for example, February's list has 29 affirmations, May has 31, April has 30, etc.

You can put the list on the board at the start of each day/each class, and students can say the daily affirmation out loud, write a response, think, pair, share with a friend, etc.

The affirmations are about family, friends, graduation, body image, respect, kindness, the new year, goals, avoiding conflict resolution, and more.

This was saved as a CMYK which is the best quality for professional printing.

    2. TITLE: 125 Questions for Pre-Teens

Thank you for considering this PowerPoint with 125 questions for pre-teens. Here are the different categories of questions:

25 questions for a pre-teen who is struggling with their friend group

25 questions for a pre-teen who is struggling in middle school

25 questions for a pre-teen about what they wish was different at home

25 questions for a pre-teen who is insecure about their looks

25 questions for a pre-teen about what they enjoy in life

As a parent, you can use this questions to generate discussions with your pre-teen who may be less open with you than they used to be.

As a teacher, you can use these questions for a daily or weekly writing activity. Use these questions for class discussions. Try putting your students in small groups to discuss one question or more at a time.

    3. TITLE: Friendship First - A Short Story to Review Literary Devices and Discuss Kindness

This 5-page PDF includes the a short story ready to be photocopied and distributed. You can have students read individually, in a pair, or in a group. You can also read this aloud as a class. Students will then answer questions about both content, literary devices, and plot development as well as identify a theme: In the end, the lesson was clear – kindness matters, and friendships may evolve, but the shared memories and experiences should be cherished.

I've included five additional activities for your students. By incorporating the story into the classroom, teachers can also address social-emotional learning, promote positive behavior, and create a supportive environment where students feel valued and understood. One of the activities gives students the opportunity to do some creative writing as well.

The next two pages include questions about the story: plot development as well as the use of literary devices. Students can complete these individually, or you have groups of students answer the different categories and share them with the class. This is a great way to develop the Speaking and Listening ELA strand.

The questions can be used for class discussions, written assignments, or as prompts for deeper exploration of the various elements within the narrative.

HERE's ANOTHER IDEA: Leave the story and the questions with the sub. They can read and answer the questions. The following day, you can discuss the answers and work on the social emotional aspect. Gone for two consecutive days? Kids can do the creative writing component on day 2.
