Lesson 15 - Punk & Ska

This is the fifteenth lesson in our 18-week full-semester course - American Music History.

Our American Music History Course explores the timeline of American music in the context of American history as students gain an appreciation for American music and a contextual understanding of our diverse cultural history.

This is a content-rich lesson that engages students as they develop an understanding of American music and cultural history. I have taught this course in person in a middle school setting and the online version of this course has been utilized by teachers and high school students in several public charter schools in California and homeschoolers. Students love this course!

Lesson 15 is built around the Punk & Ska playlist - one hour of music - which is the cornerstone of the lesson. {www.musichistoryhall.org/playlists}

I also recommend downloading the FREE resources in our Music History Hall store - Course Outline, Instructional Strategies, and Learning Objectives: The Branches.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me via TPT or at patti@musichistoryhall.org.

I hope you enjoy teaching your students about the history of American music and the birth of punk rock and second-wave ska.

Cheers!
