What educators are saying

My students loved playing this game for review! It is a great way to engage students and takes no prep work.

Description

This NO PREP, DISPLAY-AND-GO, INTERACTIVE adverbs Jeopardy-style game show is a perfect way to review these important concepts with your students! Students love playing games, and we love that it increases their motivation and engagement.

There are 25 pre-typed questions to save you time, or you can completely change the categories and questions to fit your individual needs. (However, the borders and clip art have been secured to comply with the designers' terms of use.)

Topics Covered in this Game:

  • identifying adverbs
  • how, where, when, and how often
  • adjectives vs. adverbs
  • comparative and superlative adverbs
  • adverb review

This Game Show Includes:

  • an Adverbs game show in PowerPoint format
  • 25 pre-typed questions with accompanying answer slides
  • Answer slides linked to each question
  • Editable question-and-answer slides to customize ALL text to your needs
  • a Scoreboard that automatically tallies points earned
  • options for negative numbers on the scoreboard (optional)
  • quick reset button to start the game over and sets all scores back to zero
  • questions that are blocked off once used so they can't be used again
  • arrows to easily adjust points manually as needed

How to Use This Game

  1. As a pretest for students before an adverb or grammar unit.
  2. As a review or quiz after an adverb or grammar unit.
  3. At the end of the year, as a review.

This game show works on any version of PowerPoint after 2007. If you are a Mac user, you need to make sure you use a version of PowerPoint from 2013 or later. If you need help determining which version of PowerPoint you are using, check this link.

***Please note: This is a macro-enabled PowerPoint file. This means the point totals and other functions happen automatically through coding. Google Drive DOES NOT allow this functionality to exist, so this file only works with PowerPoint. You can still display this game over Zoom or upload it to Google Drive, but you'd have to manually tally points and navigate through the slides yourself.***
